Dear loving brother Don,
It is one thing if believers get branded with a name ... the mistake is, in
this case, our accepting it.
Simply put, this is not going to be backed with Scripture, in fact, as
pointed out many times over the years, it is condemned in principal by
Scripture.
Why not call us "The Saints" to the exclusion of some of the other of God's
people? Why not "The Believers" cutting some off from the rest.
The point is, it is condemned by Scripture and shame on us when we accept
unscriptural titles that only divide us from the rest of the flock.

Wrong. Saint's gathered (or gathering) in the Name of the Lord is what we
do, not so much what we are.
We are saints (but not to the exclusion of the rest) and gathered
(gathering) is what we do.

And of course Don, this proves nothing. The fact that there were churches /
saints in a certain area hardly makes your point of taking unscriptural
names that section off from the rest.
To take what you have, i.e. "the churches of Christ" and use it to show
what you are trying to do, is about the same as myself using Col 4:16 to
prove the church will not go through the tribulation days!?!
