Scripture Truth
Ephesians 1:7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins,
according to the riches of his grace." Galatians 3:13 Christ hath
redeemed us from the
curse of the law, being made a curse for us: For it is written, "cursed
is everyone that
hangeth on a tree." I Peter 1:18 " For as ye know that ye were not
redeemed with
corruptible things, as silver and gold V: 19 but with the precious
blood of Christ, as of a
lamb without blemish and without spot."
One of the reasons why Christ went to the cross was to redeem us from
the penalty of sin,
and death. The meaning of redemption is ransom in full, deliverance,
rescue from loss.
I once heard the story of a little boy that lived by a lake; he made a
sailboat from a large
piece of wood, and cloth sails. He would go down to the lake and sail
his boat in the
edge of the lake. One day a strong gust of wind blew his sailboat far
out on the lake,
he went home sad. Then one day as he was walking down in the town, he
saw his
sailboat in a store window, he went in and told the owner that it was
his boat, but the
owner said; "I paid a price for it and you will have to buy it from me,"
he ran home and got
all the money he had been saving and went and bought his boat. As he
left the store he
said: You are mine, twice mine, once because I made you, then because I
redeemed you.
May I ask you a question.
Do you know that Christ redeemed you, and that you are going to heaven?
