Nov 2004 07:34:54 -1200
Subject: Wednesday's surgery

Dear
friends,

Well, I write this morning with as heavy a heart as I
can
remember...Carol came through a long surgery yesterday,
but the news
from it is everything that we dreaded hearing.
She did have endometrial
cancer - the lining of the uterus
wall, That, we knew going into the
hysterectomy. But,
the mass on the ovary was malignant as well. It had
been
there for a while. Now we await final Pathology reports
from that
cancer; to see which was primary, what type
of cancer it was, etc. There were
a few bright spots -
lymph nodes in that region are fine, and her liver is
as
well, as are other major organs that they looked at.

Suffice it to
say - Carol is a pretty sick girl, and the road
ahead of us looks bleak at
present. She still faces a mas-
tectomy after the first breast surgery, as
they weren't able
to get all of the margins cleanly, due to the "feelers"
that
branched out. At least for now, all of the major tumors
are out, and
any cancer left in her is microscopic. But,
a stiff course of chemo, and some
radiation is in her
future, of course.

Thank you - from the bottom of
our hearts - for praying
for Carol, and all of us. And now, we pray for a
miracle
of complete healing, if it's God's will. My brother Lin-
dsay is
with us till tomorrow, Chris (Shannon's husband)
will join us here over the
weekend, and then Carol's
sister Sherri flies in next Wednesday for a week -
just
about the time Carol should get back here where
we're
staying.

Keeep storming the Throne!

With thanks and
love,

Alan
