Scripture Truth
John 4:39 - "And many of the Samaritans of that city believed on Christ
for the saying
of the woman, which testified, He told me all that I ever did."
V40 - "So when the Samaritans were come unto Him,
they besought Him that He would tarry with them; and he abode there two
days."
V41 -"And many more believed because of His own word." •
V42 - "And said unto the Woman, now we believe, not because of thy saying,
•for we have heard Him ourselves, and know that his is indeed the Christ,
the Saviour of the world."
The twelve Disciples of Christ had gone into the city of Samaria to buy
bread,
and that is all they came back with.
We have no evidence they told anyone in this city about their Lord and what
He had done for them. After the Samaritan woman believed on Christ,
she went back into the city, and told the men,
"Come see a man that told me all things that ever I did. Is not this the
Christ?"
Hudson Taylor, the great missionary once said, "Many want to be a
successor to
the apostles, but I would rather be a successor to the Samaritan woman who,
in her zeal to tell people about Christ, forgot her water pot."
May I ask you a question -
Have you trusted Christ as your Saviour,
and are you telling others what He has done for you?
