Scripture Truth
John 5:18 - Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill Him because he
had not only broke
the Sabbath, but said also that God was His Father, making Himself equal
with God.
V19 - then answered Jesus and said unto them:
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but
what he seeth the
Father do; for what things so ever He doeth, these also doeth the Son
likewise.
V20 - For the Father loveth the Son, and shewth Him all things that
Himself doeth; and H
will shew Him greater works that these, that ye may marvel."
After the Lord Jesus healed the helpless man at the Pool of Bethesda -
It was on the Sabbath day - He told them that He was the Son of God.
They understood perfectly who He was claiming to be and they tried to
kill Him.
So in the following verses 19 - 27, he stated in no uncertain terms His
equality with God,
as the source and giver of life, in power, nature, works, and judgment.
Therefore, since He was the eternal Son of God, one of the members in
the Godhead,
all who would not believe on Him, would be judged one day by him.
V22 - "For the Father judgeth no man but has committed all judgment unto
the Son.
May I ask you a Question.
Do you know, and believe that when you stand before Him to be judged,
that all your sins are forgiven?
